To the Northeast of the province of Cáceres, protected by the mountain range of Gredos, is the region of the Side. It is without a doubt of one of the most beautiful places of Extremadura. Our region, extends throughout several tips of high altitude. Of them a great of crystalline frost are born and number throats of waters, that run in search of the Tiétar river, main fluvial artery of the Side. In this region the throats are many and varied, and create small wells and cascades of different forms, heights and sizes. These throats are going to stop to the Tiétar river where the water waters some of fertile territories but of the country. But not only the Pot by its landscape, its typical architecture is famous Throat, with stone, wood, marinates and tiles has obtained the appointment of Artistic Historical Set.

Based on this traditional architecture, is the Rural Hotel Carlos I, located in in the locality of Garganta la Olla. The locality, is surrounded by mounts and mountain ranges, have an abundant cork oak, brown vegetation, specially rich and oaks, next to these species, are also of a great abundance the “madroños”, “brezo”, “tojos”, etc… The villa emerges in a pot (of there its name) between mountain ranges full from cherry trees and throats, that lower quick from upper of the mountain range.
